Camlock couplings are used to connect together flexible hoses to pipes or to connect together flexible hoses. The ease and speed with which the couplings can be connected or disconnected without the need for additional tools, is the reason for its immense popularity. Leakages/wastages while making a change-over is minimal and ease of operation very hiqh. The Camlock coupling primarily consists of a male adapter and a female coupler. The male adapter has a continuous groove running around its circumference whereas the female coupler has a couple of cam arms, that lock on to the grooves on the adapter. The male adapter and female coupler are designed for a tight fit. The adapter is aligned and placed to fit into the coupler. The arms on the coupler are then locked down on the groove on the adapter for a positive lock. Thus one simply has to place the adapter inside the Camlock and snap the arms down.
